Fundraising Tips & Tools
August 29 will be a day full of cycling and celebrating our fundraising success. Each year Greenhouse Scholars organizes the Venus de Miles ride to raise money for high-performing, under-resourced college students. Fundraising is neither required nor expected, but is hugely appreciated.
Three quick and easy steps to becoming a Venus de Miles Fundraiser:
- Set up your very own Venus de Miles fundraising webpage to begin collecting donations! Check out the “How To Guide” to get started!
- Once your page is set up, we challenge you to send fundraising e-mail directly from your webpage! Use our suggested messages in the Fundraising Steps to Success document we've provided.
- Download the fundraising tools provided to support you in raising much needed donations for Greenhouse Scholars! Download the Fundraising Steps to Success , Donation Form, and the Donation Tracking Form!
Help us reach our fundraising goal of $30,000. Get started today!

Meet the Scholars
ADRIENNE
Graduated: Boulder High School
College: Spelman College
Career Goal: Biomedical Engineering and Medicine
As a very involved leader in her high school's student government and athletic teams, Adrienne worked to promote inclusiveness and combat racial insensitivities. By setting an inspiring example and recruiting diligently, Adrienne nearly doubled the number of students of color on the student council. She has continued her leadership and community service even while overcoming some serious medical problems within her family. Adrienne’s mentor says: "she is not motivated by recognition or pride, but a genuine love and compassion for a better world." Adrienne pursues her desire for a better world by tutoring middle school students twice a week and being part of the Student Health and Peer Educators Program. She has worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, completed an academic enrichment program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, and traveled to Peru to carry out medical humanitarian work.
WENDY
Graduated: Broomfield High School
College: University of Colorado at Boulder
Career Goal: International Relations
Wendy herself says it best: “I’ve held a steady job for three years and have played a big role in my siblings’ education. I have not let the low expectations of others deter me from my goals. Everyone falls, but only those strong enough will choose to stand back up again. Ultimately, I am the one who holds my life choices and no one else’s perception will dictate who I can be.” Wendy was born in the U.S. but raised in Mexico. Through her focus on education, strong self-respect, and a willingness to take risks, Wendy has already overcome significant obstacles. She hopes to work for an international non-governmental organization to help people around the world with educational and health issues.
