The Cause
Each year Greenhouse Scholars organizes the Venus de Miles ride to raise money for high-performing, under-resourced college students. Greenhouse Scholars uses a unique Whole Person© approach that provides Scholars with personal and academic support as well as financial aid. Through this holistic approach, we seek to ensure that our Scholars have the money to attend college and all the other resources they need to graduate prepared to achieve their fullest potential.

While your toning your calves on a Venus ride, you’ll also be supporting inspiring young people like this:
Elli
Graduated: Pueblo South High School
College: University of Utah
Career Goal: Screenwriter and/or Actress
Elli’s friends describe her as refreshingly honest, perpetually entertaining, genuinely witty, and passionately caring. Though Elli’s family has been plagued by serious health problems in the last several years, she faces each day with a smile on her face and an unmatched optimism. She has a passion for film, which she uses as a way of expressing herself and bringing laughter to others. Recently Elli attended the Sundance Film Festival. At the festival, she approached an introduced herself to producer Lee Daniels. Her boldness paid off and she will be interning at his firm in New York this summer.
Maria
Graduated: Skyline High School
College: University of Colorado at Boulder
Career Goal:Medicine
In high school, Maria was confronted by racism when a teacher doubted her abilities to be in an advanced level class. The teacher had unfairly assumed that because she was Latino, she was not fluent in English. She excelled in the class, receiving an A, but most important to Maria is the impact she hopes to have on the rights of future students. In college, Maria is active in many organizations, including the Multicultural Engineering Program and the Women in Engineering Program.
